Purcell Society Edition Volume 2 contains Henry Purcell’s Timon of Athens, Z. 632, which was written for a revival of Thomas Shadwell’s drama The History of Timon of Athens (an adaptation of Shakespeare’s play).

This completely new edition supersedes the original Purcell Society Edition Vol. 2 edited by Frederick Gore Ouseley and published by Novello and Ewer in 1882. It also replaces the revision by Jack Westrup published by Novello & Co. in 1974.
